BUT, also due to the cool single torsion blade design, other problems come about it. Juddering, shuddering sounds, uneven up/down strokes. Also due to the multiple points of pressure, while it ensures a clean even wipe, it also requires that your windscreen is wax free as well as your wiper arm spring to be of the right tension.

When the spoiler works in the RIGHT direction, it means that your down stroke of the wiper arm returning to the resting position has the spoiler working FOR it, and helps to reduce the air drag thus presenting less resistance AND shuddering/juddering. It's when you spoiler is in the WRONG direction or that it doesn't work well, that it judders (amongst other factors such as wax on your windscreen).

Now, again, a single directional wiper that works in the RIGHT direction on the down stroke, means it's working in the WRONG direction on the up stroke. That means that a wiper on the upstroke, has to work harder since the spoiler is positioned wrongly and working against the airflow.

And that's why you need BI-DIRECTIONAL Spoilers on your Frameless Flexible wipers. The spoiler is shaped to present minimal air flow obstruction on the up stroke, as well as the down stroke. This presents the least amount of air-resistance, which cuts down on the juddering.
